We are begining a new series this week looking at the life of David and Neil Strike will be giving an introduction to the series this week.

Cedar Tree will be open after the service

…but the Sunday Night @ the Cedar Tree event will be on from 7-9.00 p.m.

These are always great times together, and you would be very welcome if you would like to join with us.  We may be able to help you with transport – either contact the office by phone or email.

As from Sunday 25th March 2012 access to our upper hall will be from the NEW MAIN ENTRANCE located on Beaumont Street (The old dentist door).  This has both stairs and a lift.  Ideal for parents with young children in buggies and wheel chair users.  A big thank you to all who have helped make this happen through prayer, finance and practical work.

Come along for a great evening – coffee, cakes, music and life stories.

Would just like to let people know that I am giving up my UK life and moving to South Africa in December for one year to be a volunteer teacher. Thankfully my job is being kept open for me when I come back. Lots to do before I go including moving out of my house, selling my car, getting a visa and injections, relocating my dog and raising enough money to last the year, but hey – everything seems impossible until its done! Will be posting updates once I get there and get started. )

The reason for this is that work is ongoing in what was the dentist area in order to create a nice entrance to the lift and also stair access to the main hall, plus the installation of an accessible toilet.

As part of the project the rest of the area will be turned into a youth room.

Thanks to all who have contributed so far both in a financial way and with practical help.

We will get this work finished as soon as we can but in the mean time please be patient.

Tickets are £8.50 and are available from Cedar Tree but be warned they go fast!

Contractors will arrive Wednesday to install the lift, this is great news but is not the end of the line!

There is still a lot of work to do before we are finished.

Once the lift is in place we have internal walls to build, plaster restoration on the stairs, toilets to install and a host of electrical and other work to get through.

We are also making good progress raising money for the project but are still a little way off our target.

It is hoped that at the end of this work we will also have a youth area that will bless the youth work of HCC.

Hazel is a long standing friend of many in HCC.

Hazel has two grown up children. She was married to Dave until he died tragically from Leukaemia in 2002. She has served BCCs for many years and continues to do so! She loves being around people and longs to see more of God’s supernatural power to be released! She enjoys listening to Jack Johnson, Jamie Cullum and Norah Jones and she once danced with a monk in a Cathedral! Hazel is part of East BCC.

Hazel will be speaking at our meeting this Sunday morning and will also be speaking at a ladies meeting on Tuesday 4th Oct where there will be tea & cake but you need to book for this event!
